Veteran actress Toyin Afolayan, popularly known as Lola Idije, has defended her junior colleague, Sotayo Gaga, against claims that she is proud and wicked, describing her as a good person who simply prefers her own company.
Speaking in an interview with African A-List, Lola Idije said people often misunderstand Sotayo’s quiet nature because she keeps to herself and does not always mingle with others.
She described the actress as a “good child” and a “blessed child”, insisting that her preference for solitude should not be mistaken for pride or arrogance.
“Sotayo is a good child, a blessed child. If people don’t go close to her, they will say she is strict. Sotayo loves being alone; it isn’t pride, just like me,” she said.
The veteran actress added that she shares a similar personality, explaining that she is only playful when she is acting.
“Like me, I only joke when I am acting; I don’t know how to do it otherwise,” she added.
